Naming Ceremony
Historic bookings after ship naming celebration

P&O Cruises, Britain's leading cruise line, aimed to expand its business by pioneering something extraordinary on the enchanting shores of Barbados, where there had never been a ship naming before. Up until then, P&O Cruises always had ship naming's on British soil, so for the first time they took media to a bucket list destination to truly embody the spirit of the ship. Arviaโ€™s naming ceremony was hosted by two of the UKโ€™s most popular broadcasters and DJs, Sara Cox and Trevor Nelson, and featured global superstar Nicole Scherzinger (The Masked Singer, X Factor, Moana, The Pussycat Dolls) as the shipโ€™s godmother. For the bottle breaking, P&O and Mount Gay distillery crafted the largest, specially made 15-liter bottle of rum to symbolize a fusion of history and heritage that smashed into the shipโ€™s bow. Unlike past ceremonies anchored in a single location, we wanted to orchestrate an industry-first with a dual-location event to engage a broader audience and include more of the island in the experience.
